Watch LEGO MOVIE in London

The widely hailed ‘LEGO Movie' is finally in London. With a huge Box office success word wide the movie has been attracting rave reviews and admiration from enthused viewers. In the UK also, theaters are running houseful shows.

The LEGO Movie has been described an exhilarating experience for the movie buffs. It is such that there are only grinning moments right from the opening to the closing credits. This sheer fun has made it a true fun blockbuster.

Scripted by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Lego movie stars Morgan Freeman and Elizabeth Banks. The story line is about Lego’s fight against norms of conformity in a metaphor of rigid buildings. Its message is that of growing up without losing one’s imagination.

The movie has shaped up well in the deft hands of co-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. This witty, visually savvy and occasionally subversive delight has flashes of past movies like “The Matrix” and the Mike Judge comedy “Idiocracy” and the Pixar film “The Incredibles” but Lego movie does not make you feel as if it is ripping off those films.

A unique cinematic experience:

Movie buffs fall in love with Lego Movie where the villain unleashes his minions with a cry “Cue the micromanagers!”

The movie takes place in an imaginative world where individuality is suppressed and demands for conformity are absolute. The protagonist is a cheerful LEGO construction worker named Emmet (Chris Pratt) who follows all instructions, including knocking down buildings that are weird.

The evil Lord Business (Will Ferrell) hates creativity and innovation and e hatches a plan to destroy the world with a sinister weapon known called Kragle.

The twist comes in when Emmet hits a mysterious red block known as the Piece of Resistance. This becomes a moment of revelation for good wizard Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman) and female revolutionary Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks) that he is the Special one who can stop the Kragle. The master builders ponder loudly to defeat Lord Business and despite Emmet’s looks make him a poor choice to lead them: The climax is a wildly entertaining series of chases, gags and smart messages extolling teamwork and creativity.

Mixed Fare

For Kids the movie is a sumptuous fare with hilarious stories, bright colors and breakneck action. The adults bet on it for the messages it beam such as the pop culture references in the cameo by the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo, and Lando Calrissian and barbs on contemporary consumer society. The theme song, “Everything is Awesome!!!” is very meaningful. It has been performed by pop duo Tegan and Sara in collaboration with the musical comedy group The Lonely Island.
