London All Set for the British 10K London Run on 13 July

The British 10K London Run is entering the 14th year this year. On Sunday, 13th July 2014 at 9.35 am the race will formally take place in London.
  
Tribute to First World War Veterans

The ace British 10K London Run is also a fundraising event and this year it may attract 40,000 runners. There will be celebrities, athletics champions and other citizens in the race. Year 2014 is also the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the World War I. Therefore the British 10K race has chosen Help for Heroes as its official charity for the race.

Route

As per official plans, the race will start at Piccadilly outside the Calvary & Guards Club at Hyde Park Corner and will head to Pall Mall to Trafalgar Square and  cover the Embankment to the City, St Paul's and Tower Bridge and then back to Whitehall national memorial where those who sacrificed their lives in WW1 will be remembered.

Race Day Procedure

In this largest running event and participants literally flow into the streets of London running past the landmarks including Big Ben, The London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey.

After the warm-up from inspirational footage, motivational songs and flashing of messages of friends on giant digital screens the race gets ready for the 10 kilometer journey.

After the race culminates the runners will be greeted with water and Gatorade drinks. After re-hydrating properly the participants can go to the baggage stations and take their bags and leave.
